Need to rush out the door from your desk job to a glamorous holiday fete? No problem. Here are a few key tips for making the transition as smooth as the egg nog you’ll be sipping with friends.
If you usually wear a dress to the office, try dressing down your party dress with a turtleneck, blazer, belt and flats (by day). Take off the extras and layer necklaces and add a laceup sandal and tights for night - or if you want to be edgier, work in a thigh high suede boot.
Day Look: Heather Black Silk Cami Dress, Kersh Cropped Turtleneck Pullover, Dex Bordeau Trench Coat, Judy's B/W Belt, BC plaid flats.
Night Look: Heather Black Silk Cami Dress, Greylin Natalie Faux Fur Coat, Sam Edelman Over the Knee Kent Boots, Kris Nations Hoops, Maya Moon studded clutch.
If your office is casual and you wear denim and booties every day, try wearing leatherette leggings with a flannel shirt and moto boots and then switching into a shimmery top, heels with a studded clutch for evening parties.
Day Look: Current Elliot Plaid Trucker Blouse, AG Black Leather Coated Pants, Frye Natalie Short Engineer Boots.
Night Look: She and Sky Beaded Tank, AG Black Leather Coated Pants, Sam Edelman Elaine Heels.
Extra tips for quick holiday bling:
bring a silver or gold clutch, toss your lipstick and cell in and leave the tote in your trunk
hit the restroom and touch up your makeup. Go from your office neutrals to night time dazzle with shimmery cheeks and eyes and red lipstick
Change out your basic black tights or leggings for something with patterns or colors
switch from your basic daily earrings to a long crystal drop necklace or lariat style necklace
Snow is about to fall on Main Street, which means it's time to launch your winter wardrobe. We love fashion in a snowy mountain town... from fur vests to winter coats, the style possibilities are endless. New merchandise is arriving here every day for inspiration.
Layers are key when it's cold, so start with the coziest from Knitty Kitty. This year we have panties, leg warmers and leggings.
Vests have long been a staple layering piece for the winter season. This Heartloom furry vest will keep your core toasty. Its neutral colors go with just about anything in your wardrobe and will become your go-to glam staple.
One of our favorite winter trends is an over the knee boot. Sam Edelman's is not only stylish, but practical too with a chunky heel. Did we mention this sexy style is under $200?
Happy Winter Shopping!!!
We know how sad it can be saying goodbye to summer, but turn that frown upside down, because fall fashion is here to keep you smiling. We've got tons of new arrivals as of late, and we're so excited for the endless possibilities.
As much as we love summer festivals and concerts, deciding on what to wear can be tricky. Mary Jane's owner, Lori Harris, gives us the inside scoop on the do's and don'ts of summer festival style.
FESTIVAL FASHION WITH LORI HARRIS
What are "must have's" when going to an outdoor concert?
- Whites and lighter colors (to look fresh), sheer or lightweight materials such as chiffon or linen (to stay cool), shades (when you are not in the shade), flats or mini-wedges (for comfort), and water (to counteract the other libations and keep you hydrated)
Is there a favorite new trend this year that works for a festival?
- I am loving a long vest or a split side long tunic to wear over a bodysuit, swimsuit or tank/shorts. Bodysuits will be seen throughout the summer and into fall and winter. If you are super-fit, it is a great way to show off your body with a sheer dress over the top.
What's the biggest mistake women make when dressing for an outdoor show?
- Not thinking about staying cool and comfortable. Summer concerts are typically held at outdoor locations with uneven ground and lots of dirt and dust. There is usually a sprinkler area, misters or even a dipping pool. So wearing a quick drying suit under a cover up is a great way to look fashionable yet stay comfortable for an all day event.
Tell us about the brands/styles you have in store now that are perfect for heading to a festival.
- Fringe is still "hot" for the festival scene. I love suede skirts with or without layers of fringe at the bottom paired with a crop top, large tote bags with fringe to carry all of your accessories (such as our Sam Edelman or Melie Bianco bags), Maya Moon feather or fringe key fobs as an added accessory to bags or shorts, and of course shoes with fringe (such as our Musse & Cloud shootie, Seychelles/BC fringe flat sandals or our Sam Edelman pointy toe bootie).
What shows will you be going to this summer? What will you wear?
- I am excited about a few shows this summer including:
- July 12th Pitbull at USANA Amphitheater. I am wearing a printed Bishop & Young Jumpsuit with a chunky heel and off white blazer (ode to Pitbull's usual white suit).
- July 14th Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett at Deer Valley (Big Stars, Bright Nights) - I will probably be sporting a Veronica M or Bishop & Young romper with some fringe sandals by Seychelles/BC and a sweater for when it gets a bit chilly in the evening.
-July 22nd - 24th Cheyenne Frontier Rodeo in Cheyenne WY with Sam Hunt, Fallout Boy and Billy Currington. This one will require breaking out my favorite vintage cowboy boots courtesy of Cowboy Cash (in Bend, OR) to wear with a red-bandana inspired dress by Current Elliott (in store now) or a white gauzy dress by Heartloom also in store right now over a tank and a pair of cutoff denim distressed shorts.
And that's just July...can't wait for August.

With the warmer weather melting all the snow off our Park City slopes comes the desire to spend more time outdoors with fewer layers. We couldn’t be more tickled to get back to nature and take advantage of the balmy spring weather. There’s no better time to get your fitness routine back on track! We’ve got a wonderful selection of athletic wear to inspire your energy and get the bones moving.
A few fitness trends we are noticing for spring 2016…
Tops and bottoms that seamlessly meld from workout to lunching out are becoming more commonplace. Expect to see interesting necklines, beautiful details like ruching and cutouts, and technical yet comfy fabrics. The options for stylish workout wear have exploded in the past few seasons and we are thrilled to see a far larger selection of patterns, bold colors, and unique silhouettes.
Many companies are leaning towards intricate and visually interesting straps. We’re especially noticing this trend on sports bras. Look for geometric patterns, contrasting colors, and unexpected shapes.
More and more brands are utilizing technical fabrics to both strategically design your workout wear while achieving visual interest and fab color combos. You’ll see mesh blended with eco-friendly fabrics like bamboo and merino wool.
Of course with the Fitbit and Apple Watch phenomenon it’s getting easier and easier to train and workout with purpose. The motivational power contained in these unassuming devices is something every woman should harness. Consider the extremely simple and user friendly UP2 by Jawbone or the Fitbit Charge model.
We’re delighted by the sight of more patterning in women’s workout wear. Sweating your heart out shouldn’t be boring, so consider a bright pair of tights or a funky sports bra to add a little pizzazz to your sweating session. Looking good will help motivate you to get out and feel good!
